IGNITE event open to all

by Emma Hibdon

“This will be one of the craziest events of the year”- junior Allison Rudolph on the IGNITE event

The BSHS FCA, in collaboration with Young Life,  is hosting the IGNITE KC event at the Blue Springs Fieldhouse January 20 from 7-11 pm.

IGNITE is a free event that is touted as a “party with a purpose.”  There will be many activities for everyone: live music, prizes, games and sports, coffee bar, and free food.

“This will be one of the craziest events of the year,” junior Allison Rudolph said.

Students have played a key role in planning the event.

“My role in this event has been to help spread the word as well as planning some of the activities. I have loved getting to be involved in planning it,” Rudolph said

Though Young LIfe is a religious group, they are clear to announce that everybody is welcome to come to IGNITE.

“It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re religious, anybody and everybody is free to come and have fun,” senior Elaina Hubner said.

The main goal for the event is for students grades 9-12 to come together at a safe activity, be themselves, meet new people, feel loved and welcomed, and just have fun.

“What we want to do is provide a place for people of faith, or those curious about Christianity, a fun and safe place to come do life together,” teacher Derek Wilson said.

Students interested in attending should consider pre registering. The first 500 people to pre resigiter could possibly win an Apple Watch. To register, text “Ignite” to 816-399-3001.

Be safe and have fun this weekend, Wildcats.
