Teaching math an obvious choice for Walls

‘’Math was my favorite subject in school, [so] it came naturally to me. I always helped people and people asked me for help all the time and I enjoyed that.” Ashley Walls, math teacher

Ashley Walls joins the BSHS staff after teaching for six years. She previously taught math at Truman High School and BSFCHS. Since sitting in a desk as a student, Walls knew one day she wanted to teach.

‘’I always like helping students when I was in class, and I like helping people so I knew it would be a good fit for me,” Walls said.

Even the question of what to teach was answered easily, and Walls felt her current professional choice was an obvious one.

‘’Math was my favorite subject in school, [so] it came naturally to me. I always helped people and people asked me for help all the time and I enjoyed that,” Walls said. “It was like my dream job.’’

After teaching at the FC, Walls noted that she is excited to see her freshman succeed at the high school level. She likes to have fun in her classroom and wants it to be a place that students like to be.

“My favorite memories are when someone makes a joke [and] it makes the classroom overall happier,” Walls said.

Walls, also an FCLA sponsor, can be found in room number 118.
