Sophomore, Bella Wilkerson

Bella Wilkerson: Reliving the Past and Looking Toward a Bright Future, Student Writer

Bella Wilkerson is a sophomore here at BSHS, and she turns 16 on February 13th.

Wilkerson cares about her education and pushes herself in her classes. This year, her favorite class is Drawing 1 with Mrs. Coleman.

Bella also cares about others, her loved ones, and those around her.

Bella grew up in Missouri, spending her first five years in Independence, where she lived with her aunt Sherry. Together, they painted, did puzzles, and watched movies like Despicable Me, Tangled, Brave, and many other Disney films. They also ate out on Fridays, mainly at Outback Steakhouse.

Bella says, “Being with her [my aunt] always made me happy” because she was kind and understanding.

Wilkerson moved to Blue Springs when her dad was offered an excellent job opportunity.

Once moving, Bella got a gift of a lifetime: a puppy. This border collie pointer mix, which she named Nelly, became one of Bella’s best friends.

One interesting fact about Bella is that she has eight siblings, which means “there’s a lot going on all of the time.”

When Bella was younger, she wanted to be a teacher, but as she grew older, she was inspired to become a doctor because of shows like Grey’s Anatomy.  She is also interested in becoming a realtor.

Bella is a good listener, kind, and approachable, and she looks forward to interviewing students around campus.
