Getting to Know Jeremiah Veal, Student Writer

Article written by: Marques Hunt

I recently had the chance to interview Jeremiah Veal, a sophomore at our school, whose favorite part of the school day is the people. While he doesn’t necessarily consider everyone a friend, he makes an effort to be kind to everyone he meets.

To help him focus or unwind, Jeremiah listens to rap music. His favorite artist is Kendrick Lamar, and his favorite song is “Pride.”

When it comes to food, Jeremiah is a fan of classic pizza—cheese and pepperoni, preferably from Papa John’s.

His favorite movie of all time is Titanic, which he enjoys for its unique storyline. His favorite holiday is Christmas, mostly because he enjoys receiving gifts.

Outside of school, Jeremiah is passionate about soccer. He’s inspired by legendary players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and he enjoys the sport because it keeps him active and outdoors.

Originally from North Kansas City, Jeremiah moved to Blue Springs with his family for a better high school experience—something both he and his parents are glad about.

In his free time, he also enjoys playing video games, especially 2K, Madden, and Rainbow Six Siege. “I like playing competitive games,” he says.

Right now, Jeremiah’s main goal is to get good grades. He plans to reach that goal by staying on top of his assignments and turning them in on time.

Looking ahead, Jeremiah hopes to pursue a career as a mechanic or an engineer—both practical, hands-on fields that run in his family and offer strong career opportunities.

From gaming and soccer to pizza and Kendrick Lamar, Jeremiah Veal is a well-rounded student with big goals for the future. I’m excited to see where his interests and hard work take him.
