Meet Marques Hunt: A Creative Soul at Blue Springs High School, Student Writer

Marques is a sophomore at Blue Springs High School with a passion for art. His favorite piece that he created is a skeleton, and his work is inspired by Kurt Cobain. He enjoys both painting and sketching. His most recent artwork is a striking butterfly that he painted, showcasing his evolving talent.

Besides art, Marques also has a hobby in music. Although he doesn’t play sports, if he could excel at one, it would be boxing because he appreciates the intensity of the sport. His favorite boxer is Sean O’Malley.

When he’s not watching fights, Marques enjoys grabbing a bite to eat. He’s a big fan of Popeyes, which he believes has the best chicken. His go-to order is the classic chicken sandwich. His top three fast-food favorites are Popeyes, Taco Bell, and Wendy’s.

Marques was born in Kansas City and has been living in Blue Springs for two years. He moved here with his parents from the city. His favorite thing about Blue Springs is the high school. The biggest difference he’s noticed between Kansas City and Blue Springs is that “it’s more peaceful” here.

After graduation, Marques plans to turn his love for music into a career by becoming an audio engineer.

Whether he’s painting or making music, Marques brings creative energy to everything he does. His diverse interests—from the art room to the boxing ring—paint a picture of a talented and dedicated student at Blue Springs High School.
