Ms. Gerecke Returns to BSHS as a Teacher

Ms. Gerecke Returns to BSHS as a Teacher

Ms. Gerecke, a first-year teacher at BSHS, is also a college master’s student. She is currently attending the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO.

Though Ms. Gerecke is new to teaching, she is no stranger to the Blue Springs School District. She says, “I love Blue Springs. I’ve grown up here and love the district.”

While a student at BSHS, she loved participating in speech and debate. Gerecke teaches online curriculum in the 300 building, but if she could teach another subject, it would “without a doubt be speech and debate.”

Ms. Gerecke also has a twin sister named Bailey. While growing up, they did everything together. She calls her sister the “built-in best friend” anyone would dream of.

“I love teaching online curriculum because I love interacting with the students and helping them be successful.”

Ms. Gerecke and Siblings

One of her favorite high school memories was when Ms. Gerecke and her sister graduated together. During the ceremony, their principal allowed them to speak together for their graduation speech.

One thing in common that many other teachers have to say about Ms. Gerecke is that she is a good person and an amazing friend. They also agree that “she’s dedicated and committed to her students and teaching.”

When asked about teaching, Ms. Gerecke said, “I love teaching online curriculum because I love interacting with the students and helping them be successful.”

One of her students, sophomore La’niah Williams, also thinks Ms. Gerecke is dedicated to her students. Williams says that Gerecke makes sure to create “a peaceful, quiet environment…Her positive energy makes it nice.”

Teaching runs in Ms. Gerecke’s family, as her sister is also a teacher. Her mom works in public schools as a school nurse.

Ms. Gerecke wants all students to know her classroom is a safe place, so if you ever need a spot to relax, stop by the 300’s, and say hi.
